Is your Instagram account access blocked? What can be the reasons for Instagram banning ads?
Today, Instagram isn’t just a part of the Meta organization (banned in the Russian Federation) but also a rather moody advertisement source for foreign regions. You can get some fat and rich leads with this platform, sometimes you can get a profitable flow of customers just with a stories ad. But sometimes you can get blocked out of your account and so your Instagram ads are then just flushed down the toilet. But oftentimes, the situation is different when you still can access your profile but it’s either impossible to do something in it or your ads just have no impressions.
Don’t want to write off Instagram as one of your ad traffic sources? Then arm yourself with knowledge about its scrupulous policy regarding all kinds of blocks. Well, let’s start with what types of Instagram blocks there are.
Types of Instagram bans
Let’s figure out why Instagram ads don’t work when your profile gets banned.
• Random bans. They occur when, for example, you use low-quality proxies and stumble upon an IP address from this platform’s blacklist.
• Shadowban. This happens if the page regularly receives complaints, also if its owner partly edits their posts, uses forbidden hashtags (they include tags related to pornography and some absolutely innocent ones, such as “medicina” or “master”), artificially increases numbers of their followers or likes using certain services. You can also get shadowbanned for adding high-frequency hashtags under each post.
• Temporary blocking. This happens after light violations and the blocking increases as the violations are repeated. In this case, your ads will be under moderator consideration for a long time and, of course, each subsequent unsuccessful attempt to launch a new ad will increase the moderation time.
• Eternal ban. Most often happens when trying to deceive Instagram moderation, spamming, cheating with your follower and likes count, and so on. In 99% of cases, it’s impossible to revive an Instagram profile in this situation, and so the ads will also be blocked forever, as they say.
How to run Instagram ads after getting blocked
So, now let’s see how you can fix this many problems, i.e., how to run ads on Instagram after your account’s been blocked. Let’s get back to different variations of Instagram bans.
• Random bans. Just change your unsuccessful IP address (that made it to the blacklist of this social network) to another one.
• Shadowban. Such a ban is never cast forever on Instagram. You can notice you’re shadowbanned by a drastic decline in audience activity. Your ads are no longer shown to anyone and your posts from the feed are fully or partially hidden from the feed and the Recommendations page.
To get out of a shadowban, stop your ads, change your account status to personal, and do nothing in your profile for three days. After 3 days, you can start posting, but without hashtags or locations.
• Temporary bans. In 99% of the cases, it’s automatically lifted from your ads after 3 or 7 hours, after one day, three days, or 21 days.
• Eternal bans. That’s why it’s called eternal, it can’t be lifted. Well, you can, of course, come up with a savvy solution. For example, contact technical support daily, seek witchcraft services, or finally arrange a virtual funeral for your Instagram, having previously created a meeting on Facebook and inviting all possible subscribers of the deceased account. But there is a much more rational and cheerful option. Let’s see.
Well, now, after learning the types of profile bans (and reading the article to the end), you will surely understand why your Instagram ads aren’t running.
Create a new account and launch ads on Instagram from Russia
So, your Instagram account is banned forever and you want to create one with ads that’d be trustworthy-looking to Instagram’s administration and moderators. Here is what you have to do in this case, step by step.
1. Buy a Facebook account.
2. Buy a proxy server. We need it initially to set up a Facebook page.
What proxy should you choose? You can use proxy6.net. Your Facebook account and proxies must be in the same country. In our case here, the United States. The communication protocol must be SOCKS5.
3. Set up your antidetection browser
Download and install an antidetection browser. In our case, we chose AdsPower and it only has a desktop version. We installed the browser, opened it, and clicked on the “Create” button.
Now, create a browser configuration. Fill in the fields Login and Password of your Facebook page and place Cookies from the file that we received after buying that Facebook account. The procedure is shown on the screen.
Then set up your proxies. Paste the data that you got when buying proxies.
Next, select and create a new browser fingerprint. For this purpose, choose your operating system for better compatibility. Then click on Ok. Now, you have a profile in the anti-detect browser, so you can safely log into your Facebook account and the social network algorithms will not understand that you are in the Russian Federation.
4. Start the antidetect browser
To check the proxy server, run the profile in your antidetection browser. Here’s what the first page of the browser will look like if the proxy is functioning correctly:
5. Prepare your account
This type of preparation is literally scheduled by day.
Day one: transfer your accounts to the antidetection browser and wait one day
Day two: link your Business Manager and agency ads account. Then do nothing with them for 12-24 hours.
Day three: link a credit card and do not use it for 12 hours
Day four: launch an ad on your fan page
Day five: it’s done
IMPORTANT! Every day, open your account two or three times a day for 10-15 minutes. Do it naturally, not like a robot would, but at large intervals, for example, in the morning, at lunchtime and then at night.
VERY IMPORTANT! Here’s what can quickly put an end to your efforts, just so you know
1. Sending requests to friends
2. Changing such personal data as first name, last name, city, date of birth, and email
3. Uploading intimate photos to your account
6. Add payout methods
You can’t link a card issued in Russia. You can get blocked after doing this just once. So what should you do then?
• Get yourself a foreign bank card on your own or with the help of your friends and relatives.
• Use agency ad accounts, including those with added foreign payout cards.
7. Connect Instagram and Facebook
First, unlink all old Facebook accounts from Instagram. To connect Instagram and Facebook, go to your Facebook fan page settings and select the Instagram section. Next, click Connect and follow the prompts.
Then wait 12-24 hours and after that, feel free to proceed to the launch of advertising.
8. Run your Instagram ad
It’s now time to run ads on your Instagram post using Meta Facebook Suite. Select the Advertising category there. Next, open the Create Ad page, click on the Select Target section, and choose the Promote Post on Instagram button.
Next, select the post you need, select the agency advertising account, or the account where you added your payout card, and click Promote. Voila, your Instagram ad is up!
How can you bypass ad blocking on Instagram?
And now, my young (and not so) padawans of great affiliate marketing, let’s go through the main aspects of a quality advertising post on Instagram. Now, if you carefully check your posts for these things and avoid them, that Instagram luck will favor your account and your ad. As a result, you will add a few more important points to your own ways of bypassing ad blocking on Instagram. Let’s go!
Inappropriate text in your post
Yes, we agree, it’s a broad phrase but let us explain what we mean by that.
For example, affiliates, in order to evoke maximum emotions in the target audience, insert dozens of emoticons, write in caps, abuse exclamation marks and other visual amplifiers of human emotions.
Not only does it become hard to read, but such an emotional message will be a red rag for the metaphorical bull, i.e., Instagram moderators.
Misleading
We will try to be more specific here as well.
Firstly, it’s a no-brainer that when a moderator opens a landing page using an advertising link, and instead of a page selling face cream, they see a casino website, that ad will be disapproved with a 99% probability.
Secondly, your target site taking a long time to load, or being under development at the time of the moderator’s check, or it ceasing to work altogether, for some reason – these are all simple and obvious flaws that indicate that you were in a hurry to upload your ad. First, double-check everything, fix what you need, and then go launch your ads.
And thirdly, the content of the advertisement should be more or less realistic. For example, promises to look 15 years younger after an extraordinary vitamin course are clearly, to put it mildly, overstated.
Personal characteristics of the target audience
Don’t forget that all Meta platforms are a fortress of political correctness.
With Meta advertising, it’s forbidden to indicate race, specific names, or genders, as well as, of course, sexual orientation, details of physical or mental health, the level of material wealth, and so on.
There can’t be any direct or indirect discrimination against the user. For example, an ad copy saying “Do you want to get slimmer?” will be considered an insult to a potential client, from Instagram’s POV (Meta will equate this question with mockery, as in you’re saying that the user is fat).
And what can be used for weight-loss offers, you ask? Well, that’s why you’re an affiliate, you’re the one looking to bypass moderation in the slyest and craftiest ways. In short, everything needs to be disguised as a more generalized issue.
Shocking content
This problem usually refers to Instagram creatives. For example, demonstrating various body injuries, medical procedures, as well as prohibited substances or weapons. The point here isn’t even that the ad may then not pass moderation. Such creatives can sometimes be released but your potential viewers may not like the aesthetic and your aggressiveness.
Demonstrating alcoholic beverages and tobacco products in advertising
To block your advertising campaign on Instagram, it’s enough to show at least one cigarette or even smoking gestures in the creative, or show the use of any alcohol.
Financial offers
Financial offers in general are a controversial vertical for Instagram. Therefore, set up your cloaking in advance if you work in the financial niche, or if you simply want to advertise on Instagram at all costs.
We asked an experienced affiliate to comment his thoughts on this issue:
Evgeny Toporkov, founder of ZeonAds agency, affiliate since 2016
In order not to get blocked when advertising on Instagram, you should follow this checklist (that may even seem too basic):
1. Creatives don’t break the rules but still attract conversions.
It should be on the edge of the rules, but without breaking them. It should be catchy in order for your ads to work profitably. Everything that is forbidden to be shown in ads is listed in Facebook’s help, which is why, before making creatives, you should familiarize yourself with the list of elements that violate the rules and then proceed from the opposite. If something doesn’t violate the rules, then you can use that to your advantage.
For example, sexual innuendo is prohibited, so images of bananas are quickly blocked, but beautiful girls aren’t restricted 🙂
2. Ad copy/post shouldn’t violate the rules.
As well as visuals, your text must meet the same criteria. For example, don’t bluntly use the word “penis” but get creative instead.
3. The material under the set link must be relevant with the ad copy, your creative, and the ad’s Facebook/Instagram content.
By the way, you should pay special attention to this as well, since Facebook will also try to select an audience from parsing information on your white page. Therefore, a bakery on your white page will not be a good move.
By following these simple rules, we can avoid micro spending bans and squeeze the juice out of our accounts before they can even retire.
Conclusion: Do you want to work on Instagram as an affiliate? Then we strongly advise you to learn what types of profile blocks there are, how they impact your ads, and what to do if you have already gotten blocked. And, of course, know how to prepare an Instagram account from scratch in order to run ads in it from the very beginning and without making major (or any) mistakes. Also, keep in mind all the flaws in your content that will 99.9% get you banned after passing moderation.
We wish everyone gets endless traffic and huge profits!
