Interview with Sergey, Check Out My CTR

Hello everyone! We’re sure that many of you already know our guest today — Sergey, the creator of the Check Out My CTR Telegram channel. Giving him a warm Webvork welcome!

We discussed how to get into an affiliate marketing team without experience, what to pay attention to when searching for ad campaign approaches, and what prospects await the Nutra market. Enjoy!

1. Hello! Let’s introduce you to our readers. Please tell us how long have you been in affiliate marketing and how did you get into it?

Hello 🙂 My name is Sergey, I am the creator of the Check Out My CTR affiliate marketing Telegram channel.

In fact, it’s a funny story about how I got into affiliate marketing. 4 years ago, I was dating a girl, she worked as an HR manager in different campaigns, and I was engaged in targeted advertising and had heard about arbitration. One day, she wrote a resume for me and sent it to all the teams that we had in Samara.

2. We know that you came to the team with zero experience. What helped you get into it? How did you manage to get a foothold and what were the difficulties?

That’s right, I came to the team as a rookie. Before joining the team, I went through interviews and tests. The most interesting thing is that I wanted to join the team so much that I cheated, I copied part of the test that I had to do from the Internet 🙂

How did I get a foothold? It’s simple – I worked 10-11 hours a day. In the office, at home, at my friends’. I saw the difficulties of the guys who were with me. It was the lack of money, namely – they did not see their salary and because of this they did not understand how to move forward, because they werw spending  so much time only to get zero results. I was lucky, I got my first money after 2 weeks of training, it was around $500 and so my motivation increased 🙂

3. You run a cool Telegram channel called Check out my CTR, where you write about ad creatives and ad campaign approaches. Do you plan to introduce any changes or expand the topic?

Thank you for your feedback, I hope I am really useful for our community. And if you notice, in addition to ad campaign approaches, I have a lot of original articles. You can see them in the pinned message, the Navigation post.

4. So tell us, by what criteria do you select your ad campaign approaches? How do you understand that an approach is nice and functional?

I do it mainly by checking great approaches to my ad creatives, then I evaluate the landing page. And if it is also a European offer, then with the help of the Ad Library Helper extension I see the spend, and evaluate the approach by this metric.

5. In the last month, you have started actively filming videos on YouTube. Are you planning to maintain the direction or will there be completely different content?

I like filming for YouTube, although it can be difficult 🙂 But the content there will be different: from reviews of different services to setting ada up and working with ad campaigns.

6. You manage social networks, perform at conferences, drive traffic … How do you find time and manage to combine everything?

Oh, I wouldn’t overstate it like this 🙂 I only spoke at a conference once in 2022 at CPA Life. Regarding social networks – I do it because I enjoy showing my life. Well, traffic is part of my life and work, here whether you want it or not, you need to monitor and manage it. Answering the question, I keep a balance with rest and work.

7. What are the pros and cons of being in the media? Why did you decide to show your face at all?

There are no cons 🙂 The pros are recognition, a large number of collaborators who want to work with my brand. The media gives more opportunities to earn.

Because of this, it was decided to show myself and give a face to my channel. After all, people buy from people.

8. Let’s get back to ads. What GEOs and sources are you working with now?

Mainly Europe, and the source is Facebook exclusively.

9. You said in other interviews that the Nutra market is gradually dying. However, do you see any prospects in it at all? Perhaps changes and development?

Yes, I said it and I do not take my words back. Now, against the backdrop of the elections, it has become even more difficult to drive traffic. But! Facebook lives in cycles, this is an indisputable fact. After the elections, it will chill again and it will be possible to find fairly cheap leads. If you start testing and sorting through GEOs, you will definitely find your offer and GEO that can provide profit. The main thing is not to forget to test new approaches with different GEOs together in parallel.

10. Do you use AI in your work? What services do you use and what do you do?

Chat GPT exclusively.

11. What was the biggest fuck-up in your affiliate marketing career? How did you manage to fix it?

It was in the office in Samara. We were just starting to learn how to work with unlimited accounts. I once set a budget of $2,000 and a manual bid of $10 Well, in a couple of hours, it drove out about $1,000 and gave me about 10 leads 😀 I was instantly in a deficit, but I managed to get it back later.

12. Do you think doing affiliate marketing solo is dead? Or is it really possible to earn good money without a team?

As a beginner, it is hopeless. You won’t have enough resources and knowledge.

Teams with experience, turnover and strong buyers can earn money.

13. What is your attitude towards conferences? Will we see you as a speaker in the near future?

I appreciate them greatly and recommend everyone to visit conferences, it is a great opportunity to meet your future partners, advertisers and friends.

Maybe next year, definitely not this year for me 🙂 As of right now, I am going to Kinza in August.

14. Have you ever experienced burnout? Did you want to change your line of work?

Of course I did. 6 months of apathy due to lack of income, debts, among other things. At one point I closed Keitaro and my anti-detect browser on my computer and didn’t go anywhere for a month, that really helped.

15. And now, for our traditional final question: what would you like to wish to those who read the article to the end?

Test your offers as much as possible! This is your main tool for earning money, and you can find answers to all your questions on niche public pages or in chats. And of course, make sure to drive a profit 🙂
